The spaceThe forested context in which the building exists offers a truly unique experience where you wouldn't expect it, right in the middle of it all. The place is located right in the middle of Zicatela beach conveniently close to the Mercado Zicatela (1min hike) and the beach itself (2min walk). Functionally equidistant, about a 15min beach walk, to both Punta and the Main strip you will not feel trapped in a single section of Zicatela but giving you the freedom to choose and explore.
Built around a huge mango tree with two pools and several aesthetically pleasing hangout areas shared with other guests, the place enjoys a vibrant social component. However, understanding that many of us prefer our own space, we've also equipped the rooms to be an experience on their own right.
Each level in the complex is distinctive in its feel, offering diverse settings depending on mood and weather. The bigger of the pools sits in the lowest level under the cover of the mango tree staying cool and fresh and serving as a welcome respite to the Puerto heat. You'll find the main hall in the mid section of the building which serves as the social heart of the place. The social areas are crowned by a the smaller pool that overlooks the ocean.
Additional notesEvery room has a private fridge and has access to the communal kitchen or has its own for cooking, with the Mercado Zicatela a short 1.5 min hike, you can conveniently do groceries there and cook here saving on eating out every day. But if you want to eat out, Mercado Zicatela offers several great restaurants many of which overlook the ocean. If you're looking for a drink or three, our friendly neighborhood hostel/bar, the Straw Hat, is just a shot 1min walk and has events Thursdays and Saturdays. Usually they're respectful of noise levels and its conveniently close if interested.
It is important to note that due to its design around a tree, the place relies on stairs to get around. Because of this we don't recommend booking with children or people with mobility limitations.
